Stand With Me

One of my deep passions (in addition to helping good people write good books) is what is on many minds these days--the environment.

In 2008, I founded a grass-roots organization that spotlights one of the largest polluters in Massachusetts (where I live)--an obsolete, coal-fired power plant.

My organization, visionforsalem.org meets with local and state officials, works closely with other environmental groups, and raises awareness regarding the health impacts, environmental issues and revenue losses to our community at the hand of last-century energy generation (coal).

We promote closure and redevelopment of the corporate-owned power plant site, which sits on a 60-acre oceanside parcel of land on an otherwise beautiful harbor.

Visionforsalem.org released the first redevelopment study of the waterfront site, showing examples of how a city can wean from its coal addiction and meet revenue needs at the same time

My environmental efforts have brought me in touch with some amazing, committed individuals who are truly working for the greater good. I am fortunate to have found them.

Electricity generation doesn't have to cause cancer!

I believe in capitalism--but capitalism with a conscience.
